About Us

Ground-Up Forestry Mulching is proudly owned and operated by husband and wife duo Mack & Jen Funari. The pair met while attending college at SUNY Delhi, where Mack majored in Construction Management and Jen majored in Accounting.

Upon each receiving their bachelor's degrees, Jen and Mack moved down to Atlanta and found themselves working together on a nearly $1B Georgia DOT roadway construction project. After a few fun and fulfilling years, the couple packed themselves and their two rescues dogs into their truck and seized an opportunity to move back to CNY to be closer to family.

With their combined schooling and experience, Mack & Jen often spoke about how fitting it would be to build their own business with a focus on superior workmanship and professionalism. In the beginning of 2019 they took the leap and started GUFM. Jen mainly controls behind the scenes, and you will likely find yourself communicating with her by phone or email. As for Mack, you can find him on-site operating our machinery, where he is truly in his element!
